Detailed Job Description:
As a fitness instructor you will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of users at Fit4less whilst working towards your Apprenticeship in Instructing Exercise and Fitness level 2.

Within the gym you’ll be getting hands on practical experience and planning member inductions as well as being responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the member’s area.
As an Apprentice Fitness Instructor you will ensure that you and your team provide a stimulating environment for current members, whilst integrating new members through the management and inspection of Point of Sale options.
You will also learn how to:
• Reflect on and develop own practice in providing exercise and physical activity
• Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation
• Work with clients to help them to adhere to exercise and physical activity All funded learners will need to achieve
• Plan and prepare gym-based exercise
• Instruct and supervise gym-based exercise
Experience with gym equipment would be an advantage but not necessary as this can taught on the job and through the apprenticeship.
There are opportunities to develop further skills around sales & promotions for the right applicant.
This is an Apprenticeship position working towards an Apprenticeship in Instructing Exercise and Fitness level 2. You’ll be working 30 hours per week on a shift rota. The training is government funded and is provided by Lifetime Training.
Candidates must have a keen interest within the leisure industry and want to progress within this field. You must also have great communication and customer service skills along with determination to succeed and work hard.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 an hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
