Volunteers on our Himalayan Mountain Conservation in Nepal placement will work with a national conservation organisation, Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in the stunning Annapurna Mountain range in the Himalayas. This area is home to the snow leopard, black bear, musk deer and several bird species including endangered species of vultures.
This area is continuously threatened by the pressures of climate change, loss of habitat and human encroachment resulting in the loss of biodiversity and environmental degradation.
The main aim of this project is to preserve and enhance the natural resources within the area and aid social development in the villages.
Volunteers on this project can get involved in a wide variety of activities such as wildlife research, natural resource management, alternative energy projects, conservation education and agriculture and livestock development.
