If you are looking for an exciting and worthwhile volunteer experience that involves care work, then our HIV / Aids Project in Jamaica may be right placement for you. You will be based in the office in Montego Bay, the capital of St. James Parish on Jamaica’s north coast.

It is estimated that 32 000 people are living with HIV in Jamaica and as part of this project you will work with a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) which focuses on outreach work and aims to support and assist vulnerable people in local communities who are living with HIV and Aids.

In addition to community outreach work, volunteers are also responsible for raising awareness and educating young people about the virus. Your role will include providing information and support to individuals visiting the NGO, as well as conducting practical demonstrations at local high schools and universities.

Volunteers who join the project will be given training about HIV / Aids specific to the current situation in Jamaica.
