- Hospitality and Catering
- Birmingham remove
Hospitality is a fast-paced, exciting industry that suits enthusiastic people who are customer-focussed and enjoy working as part of a team.
If you already work in hospitality – and want to learn new skills and gain official recognition for your experience – an apprenticeship is a great way to gain a qualification while you earn.
Alternatively, you might want to join the industry and complete a qualification while you work. UCB can help you find a suitable employer and start you on an apprenticeship programme.
NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hospitality Services
The Level 2 Diploma explores the essentials of working in hospitality including: customer service; food and drinks organisation and service; finance; and human resources.
You will gain:
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hospitality Services
- Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Hospitality Services)
- Level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership
The Level 3 Diploma takes you to the next level and prepares you for a more advanced role, possibly as a supervisor. The apprenticeship develops your skills to help you motivate a team and learn more about ways of running an operation effectively. You also benefit from the development of more advanced service skills.
You will gain:
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership
- Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths
You will need to be 16 and over and in full-time employment. You will already be working in a suitable role, or we can help you find one. If you are new to the industry or have limited experience you will need to start at Level 2.
For Level 2 you will normally require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (grade D) or above. For direct entry to Level 3, you will need a relevant Level 2 qualification and ideally English and maths at grade 4 (grade C) or above. However, all applicants will be considered on an individual basis.
You will also be required to attend a college interview.
If you have experience of working in the industry we would be delighted to hear from you.
If you do not have a grade 4 (grade C) or above in English and maths you will need to undertake an assessment so we can ensure you receive the best support for that subject.
