HR Apprentice with Watson, Farley & Williams

Watson, Farley & Williams are seeking an HR Apprentice who will be responsible for delivering efficient support to the business and will assist the HR team with all HR administrative tasks. Annual Salary is £17,000

Job Description:

The main activities of the role will be undertaken in conjunction with the HR Administrator as follows:

  • Administering the joiner process – including preparing offer letters, pre-joining correspondence (e.g. start date, references, pre-employment screening checks, co-ordinating first day induction), updating HR database (Cascade), co-ordinating workstation and IT set up, and organising induction schedule
  • First point of contact for new joiner’s initial queries, e.g. contractual points, benefits etc
  • Requesting and responding to references – pre-employment, mortgage etc
  • Health & Safety – Assigning work station assessment module to new joiners via the online Workrite system
  • Flu jabs – organise the annual flu jabs within London, including booking and overseeing appointments
  • Archiving
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects as and when required by the team e.g. research projects
  • Managing all email enquiries into the HR HelpDesk email inbox and responding or directing each email to the relevant person as necessary
  • Providing first line response to partners, managers and employees on all HR issues including policies and procedures
  • Answering ad-hoc queries from international Office Managers
  • Updating the monthly dashboard with joiners/leavers/family leave etc
  • Updating the employee handbook and London HR page of Ignition with any changes when required.

HR Information System

Cascade database management for the London office; including:

  • inputting personal detail changes, holidays, absence, work pattern changes etc
  • Running ad hoc reports.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Updating payroll with any relevant correspondence e.g. joiner/leaver paperwork, sports club membership, overtime etc
  • Assisting with the production of annual salary review and bonus letters.

Graduate Recruitment

  • Assist the Graduate Recruitment team with assessment centres for Vacation Scheme and Training Contracts
  • Organising travel and other arrangements for University Law Fairs and marketing events
  • Processing travel expenses for assessment centre, interview and open day attendees
  • Processing Trainee expense claims as required
  • Assisting Graduate Recruitment & Development Assistant with the onboarding of new Trainees, including assisting with first day induction
  • Assisting with the Training Contract offer process as required
  • Assisting with the production and collation of new joiner paperwork for annual trainee intake
  • Maintaining up to date absence records on Cascade for Trainees, including inputting sickness and conducting the annual holiday ‘close and carry’ update
  • Assisting with the annual NQ recruitment process, including scheduling interviews and assisting with paperwork
  • Maintaining the work experience log and paperwork, liaising with LPACs as required
  • Assisting with monitoring and responding to the UKTrainees inbox as required
  • Assisting Graduate Recruitment & Development Assistant with administrative tasks during peak times or as required

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
  • A-levels at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications
