The HSBC Work Experience programme has been designed to provide students with exposure to the banking sector. At HSBC we are offering students with a variety of placements across our different business areas including:
Retail Banking & Wealth Management Branch Network
You will be based in one of our local branches working alongside an experienced team who look after the day to day needs of our customers. You will gain an insight into how we serve our customers at first point of contact providing a full range of services and products. You will also see how the Bank implements its Digital First approach. Throughout your placement, you will be able to learn how our colleagues deal with customer relationship management to ensure our customers are delighted whenever they visit us. Our expectations of you are you will engage with the team and show an interest in your placement. In turn we will ensure your time with us is mutually beneficial.
Mortgages & Wealth
Mortgages & Wealth, Distribution is a multi-channel business comprising of Network Mortgages (branches), Virtual Mortgages (Contact Centres & Live Connect), Intermediaries, Wealth Distribution & Mortgages & Wealth Centre of Excellence. The team provides regulated services for HSBC UK customers covering: Mortgages, Protection, Wealth Investment & Retirement Advice.
The Mortgage & Wealth family is made up of over 2,000 colleagues who will work together to help approximately 130,000 customers in 2018, to achieve their home buying ambitions or help plan their finances for the future.
The team’s overriding goal is to ensure teams deliver the very best customer experience; in a diverse and inclusive working environment where colleagues are able to flourish and prosper.
The team is responsible for delivering 2 of the 4 key strategic priorities for UK RBWM - taking advantage of our unique mortgage opportunity and creating a market leading, sustainable wealth business.
MME: Middle Market Enterprise business, manages the entire banking relationship of a portfolio of domestic and international customers in the turnover bracket £6.5m to £350m via relationship management and support.

The recruitment process will include completing an online application with eligibility questions, a short online assessment and final stage telephone interview. We will then advise all applicants in March 2019 on the outcome.
The work experience placements are one week in duration in your assigned location and will commence in June 2019 and run weekly over the summer until end of August 2019.
We recruit on a rolling basis, meaning that the telephone interviews will start when the first applications are submitted.

Where are the placement locations?
If successful with your application, you agree to be assigned a placement within your region. During the recruitment process you will be asked to give your three preferences, which we will do our best to provide in order to ensure the journey time is reasonable.
