IBSTOCK BRICK ADVANCED MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Ibstock are delighted to be able to offer the following Advanced Mechanical Apprenticeship Opportunities giving
you the chance to train for a highly skilled role; gain a nationally recognised qualification and get paid while you learn.
The apprenticeship will last for about 4 years and combine study at EEF Engineering Training School in
Birmingham, with on-the-job learning with an experienced mentor. The apprenticeship will require you to stay in
Birmingham and attend the EEF Training School during term time.
On completion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve a BTEC Level 3 qualification and a NVQ Level 3 qualification in
Examples of subjects studied are
· Mechanical Principles and Applications
· Electro, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems and Devices
· Engineering Maintenance Procedures and Techniques
· Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of Engineering Systems
W e will also encourage your continued professional development after you have qualified.
As well as training and qualifications, you will receive a competitive rate of pay, starting at £273 p/w in your first year
with all travel and accommodation expenses covered while at college. You will be eligible for inclusion in the defined
contribution pension scheme.
SO WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You need to be someone who enjoys working with your hands, who can demonstrate a positive approach to work, a
practical problem solver, who can participate in a team environment and able to use your own initiative. It is likely you
will have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of 3 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths, English and
