What is covered?
ICAEW CFAB consists of the same six modules that make up the first level of our world-leading chartered accountancy qualification, the ACA. The modules are:

When you complete all six modules, you’ll receive a certificate from ICAEW – a world-leader of the accountancy and finance profession – to demonstrate your knowledge and achievement.

How / where will I study?
ICAEW CFAB is a popular choice thanks to its study options and flexibility. You can choose how you want to study – there’s classroom tuition, self-study and online. You can complete the modules in any order and at a pace that suits you. So you could complete ICAEW CFAB in 12 months or go at a slower pace and take longer – it’s 100% up to you.

Whatever you choose, ICAEW has a wide range of support to help you while you study, including study webinars, skills tuition sessions, guidance from tutors and examiners, study hints and an online student community. You can also register for an NUS Extra card.

How will I be assessed?
Examinations for ICAEW CFAB are computer-based assessments. They each last for 90 minutes. You can take the exams at any time of year at test centres across the UK and around the world.

Progression routes
When you complete ICAEW CFAB, you will have achieved the first level our chartered accountancy qualification, the ACA. So you could use it as a stepping stone to studying for the ACA.
