Bertram Nursery Group operate 36 children’s day nurseries across Scotland and the North West of England. The group has two operating hubs in Edinburgh and Manchester. There are 22 sites in Scotland and 14 in the North West of England, mostly in and around Manchester.
In entering this new growth phase, the business wants to ensure that its people and systems are ready and robust enough for that increasing level of activity. As a result, Bertram are looking to recruit an IT apprentice to support a robust IT infrastructure at each of its nurseries.
Bertram has outsourced much of its IT to an IT support services business in Edinburgh. The IT apprentice will work closely with IT support business in delivering a hardware and software upgrade programme across all of its locations and central hubs. Business support will come from Bertram and technical support from the IT support business.
The role is first line IT support for the nurseries, supported by the considerable resources of the IT support business.
The successful candidate would be based in Salford Quays, Manchester, but will be required to travel to a variety of nursery locations throughout the North West and will require their own vehicle.

• Must have driver’s license and vehicle - as you will be based in one location [M50 2GT] but you will be visiting other locations within the Manchester area.
3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above.
37.5 hours per week,
Monday – Friday,
9am – 5:30pm, shifts/possible weekend work,

£11,500 per annum, May increase depending on experience,
Mileage paid for by the company.
