Last year we won an award at the National Apprenticeship Awards ceremony held in London. Now we are building on our past success and introducing an Apprenticeship opportunity within our IT Services team.
Let me introduce our IT Services team
We're a really big international law firm with offices across the UK and US (I'll tell you more about us later). Our IT services team are also based across the country and they support our 1300 staff in the UK. They keep our systems running smoothly, they build and roll out new systems, they set up new people who join, they replace and update our equipment, help us when we we press the wrong button (or spill tea in our keyboard), they support video conferencing, deliver training and much more.
So what's the Service Desk?
Our Service Desk team are the people we phone or email when we first discover we have an IT problem. They're always so helpful, patient and good at problem solving. It may be re-setting a password, resolving access issues, unlocking a document through to arranging for new equipment or resolving a complex workflow issue. They are a very knowledgeable team based in Plymouth.
What will the Apprentice do?
Our IT apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a formal IT qualification (Infrastructure Technician Level 3) as well as paid on-the-job training. By supporting the Service Desk team you will learn IT principles and practices, develop first class customer service skills, build effective relationships with people across the firm, learn about workflows and processes, you'll log requests, help with any office moves, assist with new software upgrades, and most importantly participate in the wider team.
What makes it so great to work here?
I mentioned we're award winning - in fact we've received recognition for our apprenticeship programme in the form of two awards recently reassuring you that the quality of support you'll receive here is second to none.
Secondly, we've worked hard and continue to work hard, to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits! We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that become lasting friendships.
There are lots of extra-curricular activities to get involved in too; perhaps you're into charity fund raising, we love to see people keen to get involved with our corporate social responsibility strategy, so much so we'll even give you two days per year on us to get involved.
And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.
Most of all it's our people that make it a great place to work.
I promised you more about our Firm.
We're a commercial law firm meaning most of our legal work is business to business for example big retailers, financial institutions, energy companies, insurance etc. We have hundreds of really talented lawyers, many of who are at the top of their field. Our offices are based in 7 cities across the UK and as I mentioned we also have offices across the US. Please have a look at our website to see more about what we do.
