IT - Apprenticeship

The Heart of England Co-Operative is seeking an apprentice to assist in the IT function of the Society in an efficient and accurate manner being an integral part of process and system’s continual improvement. This position would suit someone who wishes to start a career in IT support and is passionate about the industry.

Vacancy description

Duties include:

  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults. 
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Test and evaluate new technology
  • To perform any ad-hoc tasks requested by Management Executive and line managers
  • To demonstrate a high standard of appearance and conduct at all times
  • To promote good working relationships in own department and across the Society Divisions
  • Follow the Policies and procedures as set out by the
  • Observe all safety and hygiene regulations and practices as laid down by the Society under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974)
  • To demonstrate a high standard of appearance and conduct at all times

Requirements and prospects

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs ideally at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including ICT, maths and English

  • Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week)
  • You will be employed by Inspire ATA and placed at one of our partner sites for the duration of this apprenticeship.
