IT Service Delivery Apprentice Engineer

Duties: 

  • To provide a good level of customer service in assisting WCG staff, students and visitors in the use of End User Computing (EUC) hardware, software and another ICT equipment.  This includes assisting with the central ICT service desk core functions when required.
  • To carry out EUC / Audio Visual / Network Infrastructure support duties as directed
  • To accurately add and update asset and log support calls information on the relevant systems
  • To ensure allocated support calls are resolved in a timely and professional manner to departmental SLA's
  • To ensure relevant staff/students are informed of the progress of your work where appropriate
  • To despatch, receipt and test equipment sent out of the College for modification or repair, and to maintain detailed records of these actions 
  • To install and maintain software applications and update corresponding documentation
  • To work flexibly with other departmental staff to ensure tasks and objectives across the entire department are achieved in a timely fashion
  • To undertake training as required
  • To work in a safe, efficient and effective manner with due regard to good working practice and Health and Safety at Work regulations
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and whom you come into contact with

Annual wage: £7,985.00 - £16,777.00

Working week:  Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30, with 30-minutes for lunch.

Total hours per week: 37.00

Expected duration: 30 months

Desired qualifications:

  • You will have a good general level of education, a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths, English, and a science
  • Desirable - possess a minimum Level 2 qualification in an appropriate subject OR have other appropriate recognised qualifications (or equivalent)
