Salary - £20,000 per annum
Alongside our award winning Graduate programme, we're offering a paid 46 week year in industry internship in our Leakage team within our Water Services business stream at the UK's #1 Best Place to Work according to Glassdoor. Our internships will introduce you to an exciting and challenging industry that delivers a vital water resource to millions of customers.
At Anglian Water you are given real responsibility from day one, helping to embrace the challenges we face and contributing to transforming our business into the water company of the future - and this is no different for our interns.
What will you be doing?
Anglian Water has the best leakage performance in the UK. However we serve part of the country that is facing large population increases, reductions in the amount of water that can be extracted from the environment and the impact of drier summers due to climate change. We therefore are planning to reduce leakage to uncharted levels over the next 7 years to ensure that there is enough water for our customers and we would like your help!
Over the course of this 46 week year in industry internship, you'll be working alongside our Leakage and Optimisation team on a variety of projects to help us account for where the water we produce goes, and to monitor performance of some key workstreams. This will involve data analysis, including:
- Developing data validation and cleansing methodology in data received from our water network sensors/flowmeters
- Reviewing leakage data and reporting on daily customer usage of water
- Developing new ways to report/visualise key performance metrics
For the majority of the internship you will be based at our office in Huntingdon, although some travel will be required to visit other offices.
What do you need?
- Currently studying a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate great communication skills
- A real team player who can build strong working relationships quickly
- Strong analytical skills
- A driving licence and the flexibility to travel around the region as required
What benefits do we offer?
Being a successful water company doesn't come easy! Our people are important to us and we want to make sure that we reward and recognise all of the great work that they do.
We are passionate and committed to the learning and development of our people making sure they have the right skills and knowledge to be successful and to help achieve their potential. We also take Health and Safety very seriously in everything that we do.
If you are offered a job with us, you'll be subject to the relevant/standard employment checks, including: your right to work in the UK, reference, driving licence and identity check. Depending on your role, you may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.
