This intermediate course combines study with practical learning on-the-job. You will attend college on a day-release basis while employed and working as an apprentice barber
The course is designed to develop your barbering skills in colouring, cutting and styling men's hair.
You will gain evidence from your place of work, which will contribute towards the achievement of your apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship programme will enable you to earn while you learn. You will gain vital hands-on experience working in a barbers.
You will attend college one day per week where you will study a combination of practical and theory, as well as independent study. If required, you will also study Functional Skills alongside the main programme. It is imperative that you can commit to attend all sessions, to maximise your opportunities and achieve the course requirements.

It is a formal requirement that you are in full-time employment, and your employer must support you throughout the programme. You must be prepared to attend college one day per week and work in the salon for 40 hours over the remaining days.
You are required to bring your GCSE grades. Ideally, you will hold a minimum of grade 4/C in maths and English. If you do not hold a grade 4, you will be required to study Functional Skills in maths and/or English, at a relevant level, alongside your programme.
