Belvoir Home Care are a family ran business operating in the villages of Nottinghamshire. Our primary aim is to provide the best quality support for our clients on the market. We offer training and mentoring to all workers to help them to focus on the emotional and physical side of a clients health, ultimately noticing warning signs and dealing with them to keep clients out of hospital.

About the job

Providing assistance to people in their own homes to enable them to live enriched lives, access local services such as shops, theatres and cafes, maintain personal hygiene and nutrition levels, and be as independent as possible with medication management and pet care. Level 3 qualified staff also have the opportunity to join our mentorship team where they coach other team members to develop skills in the care sector.

Tasks will include travelling form address to address within a given area to assist the clients scheduled with making clothes choices for the day, washing, dressing, shaving, oral care support, medicine management, meal preparation, pet care, attendance of appointments and allocated physiotherapy. Our Community Carers will also take part in company events if they wish; such as day trips with clients to the beach, theatre, local cafes etc.
We are a small, close knit team, never more than 40 team members which means we are able to get to know every colleague personally and help them to develop confidence and skills to aid them in their career goals. We have in house promotion opportunities, regular socials and a 'family feel' amongst all of the workforce which makes for a healthy working environment with set shifts patterns so that work life balance can be maintained and days off known 6-12 months ahead. No staff member works more than 5 days a week and all staff work a minimum of alternate weekends on a mix of early and late shifts on a rotating shift pattern agreed mutually.

About the training

Over the course of 15 – 18 months (dependent upon the level of course an apprentice is being enrolled onto), you will study modules such as personal development in care settings, the responsibilities of a care worker, handling information in care settings, implementing person-centred care plans, safeguarding & protection in care settings, duty of care in care settings, communication in care settings, equality & inclusion in care settings and health & safety and wellbeing in care settings (these units may differ).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 2 or 3 qualification and a TQUK Diploma in Care.

We and our employer partners are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, so a DBS check will be required for this role. To make you aware, this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore all convictions, cautions and bind-overs, including those regarded as ‘spent’ must be declared, and you will be asked about these during the recruitment process.
