As a Unified Communications Technician, your primary role will be to establish and maintain communications systems under supervision. You will use a range of remote and physical tools and equipment to install basic communication hardware and software.
You will also develop the skills required to carry out routine service requests from internal and external sources, including fault rectification across a range of technologies, applying security principals in line with legal and organisational requirements. This role will require you to work alone or as part of a team, and could be office based, field based, or in remote sites as required.
This advanced course covers work in a broad range of technologies, which help us to use and share information such as mobile phones, computers, broadband provision and satellite communications.
This apprenticeship aims to provide you with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to work as an IT professional. IT and telecoms jobs are no longer just about the technology, all jobs now require good people skills, as well as the technical skills you will gain during this programme.
You will attend college on a day-release basis while employed and working as an advanced apprentice.
5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C) including English and maths or a Level 2 qualification in IT at Distinction.
You will be required to sit the relevant BKSB assessments in English & maths, and free hand writing exercises.
