Based within our Technology Enterprise Services area, our apprentices receive mentoring and training within field delivery in addition to classroom training to achieve their Level 3 apprenticeship (Unified Communications Technician)– all within 24 months.  Alongside this, we offer a competitive salary £17,000 per annum (£18,800 for roles in London).

Through the Field Engineering apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications to become fully competent in the role of Field Engineer upon completion of the scheme.

About the role

Whilst in the role you will learn the responsibilities of Field Services in supporting customer order delivery and how to build, test and integrate end to end customer solutions.

You will also learn how to build, test and maintain Vodafone’s core network, working with both internal and external parties.

What we will be looking for in you

We are looking for self-starters with a keen sense of intrigue, a desire to fix anything and everything, great communication and team-working skills and a passion for making the experience of our customers the best in the business.

 

The role holder must be willing to travel afield, working away from home if required and be comfortable working at heights.  The Field engineering role comes with a Vodafone branded commercial vehicle so you will need to have the ability to park this at home.

We need individuals with the ability to work in a focused and flexible manner to meet tight deadlines and who are able to work effectively in teams with excellent communication skills.    What’s equally important is that you are passionate about technology, are self –motivated, and have the ability to learn new skills quickly.

 

This role also requires someone who has a flexible attitude to working hours as being a Field Engineer requires you to be available to work shift and on-call to ensure we are able to meet our customer and network demands out of hours.  Our working patterns include week day, week end and night working.

 

You need to be 18 years or over on 1st Sept 2017 and match the following requirements:

  • A full clean driving license

  • A minimum of  6 GCSEs  at grade C or above, or an equivalent level qualification such as a Level 2 apprenticeship.

  • Have lived in the EU for 3 years or more and have the right to work

  • NOT have a qualification already at degree level or higher in the same subject

  • NOT already have studied a similar level apprenticeship
