Two exciting opportunities have become available in our Cyber Security team based in Warrington. As well as their on the job training that they will receive, the apprentices will be receiving training from GP Strategies towards their Level 4 Cyber Security Technician apprenticeship. Experience in this area is not needed as full training will be given, but a passion and genuine interest in Cyber Security is required.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Performing initial triage/identification of 'Events of Interest' using the Secure Operation Centre (SOC) toolsets
Escalating all 'Events of Interest' to a 2nd Line Analyst
Ensuring that all incidents, alerts and exceptions are responded to in accordance with established procedure
Provide feedback to tune SIEM alerts and to improve the effectiveness of SOC playbooks / Work Instructions.
Incident Management – initial communication of known incidents and 1st line resolution of faults.
Understanding and interpretation of technical information and configurations to drive fault resolution.
By the end of the program the apprentices will have a good appreciation and understanding of the cyber threat landscape and have the ability to triage security incidents. They will also have knowledge and experience of IDS and SIEM technologies and the analytical capability of reviewing and responding to security alerts.
The successful candidates will have an awareness of cyber threat, a willingness to learn and a genuine passion in cyber security.
