The possibilities are endless ….
Apprentices earn a salary and learn on the job from experienced colleagues to gain role-specific skills. In addition, apprentices attend college to work towards a nationally recognised professional qualification in their chosen career path.
In a nutshell, the main benefit of an apprenticeship is that you can earn as well as learn.

What you’ll be doing
There are two types of roles in this category:
The first would be ideal for those who are keen to learn about the logistics of complex warehousing and warehouse management. It’s suitable for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach to tasks, is fit and would enjoy getting involved in a wide range of duties - maybe even some fork truck driving.
They’d also get the opportunity to learn a specialised skill and knowledge.
The other main role is working in BT building facilities. This is a role that involves ensuring BT’s buildings and offices are secure and safe for its people.
This role may either focus one particular skill or may encompass several depending on the need of the business at the time and the type of person recruited. There would be an element of travel and the role would suit someone who is independent and happy to work in small teams.
About the training
Our apprenticeships are designed so they offer a structured programme that takes the apprentices through the skills they need to do a job well. Along the way there are targets and checks to make sure each apprentice is supported and is making progress.
Most training is delivered on the job. You will be surrounded by colleagues who are experts in their field who will deliver the learning and support to make sure you are on track and making progress. In addition time is spent at college with a local training provider to consolidate this learning in a classroom environment as you progress to achieving your apprenticeship.
The outcome of this blended learning method will be a vocational qualification for our apprentices which will be useful in their job and help them succeed in their future career.
Within BT you will receive plenty of support and encouragement, not only from your manager but also from our dedicated apprentice development team, who will help you create a personal development plan and coach you throughout the journey as you work towards your apprenticeship.
