Management Trainee Programme
We are currently recruiting for two Management Trainee Quantity Surveyors to join our London and East team who are based in Hitchin, but operate across North London and the Northern Home Counties. Willmott Dixon is a privately-owned contracting and interior fit-out group with a local regional presence throughout the UK. Trainee Quantity Surveyor
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be directly involved in construction management and site operations. you will be directly involved in the commercial management of construction projects. Your career is all about managing the costs of a project. This will include preparing tender and contract documents, weighing up commercial risks, procuring the best supply chain and managing payments for completed work.
Our Management Trainees come from diverse backgrounds and qualification routes. We welcome all applications but for this role we have an emphasis on A levels, HNC and Trades backgrounds. The programme will give you a great foundation; you will get exposure to all areas of our business to develop your understanding of the construction business as a whole, not just your chosen discipline. The length of your programme will depend on your entry route, generally between two and five years. On successful completion of the training programme you will be positively supported to complete a professional qualification such as MRICS or CIOB.

Essential and Desirable Criteria
- The competence to work to the highest standards in your chosen discipline
- A strong understanding of business processes and industry IT systems
- The ability to make decisions in a timely and appropriate manner
- Analytical and forward-thinking approach
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- A full UK driving licence
- 12 months of relevant work or industry experience
- Working towards appropriate professional membership

There will be a structured training programme for you to follow, and a mentor will assist with your progress through this. Further training consists of a residential training course provided by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) where you experience “hands-on” trade skills; for example bricklaying, joinery and painting.
The application closing date will be the 31st December 2021; the next intake of trainees is due to start in September 2022 with assessment centres taking place from February 2022.
