Ricardo “High performance Transmissions Products” manufactures very low volume, high precision components mainly for the motor sport industry. We are currently looking for exceptional young people to join our team and become highly skilled in all aspects of manufacturing and associated areas.

During the apprenticeship, the following sections of manufacturing will be covered which includes:

  • CNC Turning
  • CNC Milling
  • Gear cutting
  • Heat treatment
  • Grinding
  • Inspection
  • Sub Contract Processes
  • Production Control

In each section the apprentices will be trained as follows

  • Manufacture components to cost, quality, and on time.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Programming of components using conventional and CAM methods
  • Setting up various machine tools and prove out programs
  • Inspect components ensuring all drawing requirements are achieved
  • Design of fixtures and tooling to ensure the machining process is optimised
  • Obtain a good understanding of material properties
  • Understand and apply all company quality procedures
  • Ensure all aspects of health and safety are adhered to

Annual wage: £10,000.00 - £13,000.00

Working week: Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 3.00pm (with 30-minute lunch break). Total hours per week: 37.50

Apprenticeship duration: 3 years

Possible start date: 03 Sep 2018
