The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a charity that provides, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service.

Our lifeboat crews and lifeguards need a dedicated, professional and talented team behind them.

This is an exciting time for the RNLI as we continually develop the Inshore Lifeboat Centre (ILC) in East Cowes, Isle of Wight, and our All-weather Lifeboat Centre (ALC) production and maintenance facility in Poole. The Inshore Lifeboat Centre manufactures and maintains the Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) fleet to the highest standards to survive the harshest of sea conditions.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated individual to undertake a four year Electrical apprenticeship with the Inshore Lifeboat Centre (ILC). During your programme you will attend college on a day release basis with the rest of your week spent putting your learning into practice in the workplace.

During your apprenticeship you will learn about assembling, installing, repairing, modifying, diagnosing and maintaining all types of electrical equipment and systems. Our apprentices work on all classes of lifeboat and associated plant alongside experienced technicians.

Our minimum criteria are educated to GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science or evidence of predicted grades. We also require an acceptable pass in the college assessment. Please note you may be required to attend the college assessment between 9th April and 4th May 2018.

The successful applicant will be required to start in September 2018 prior to college commencing.

The pay structure for this role is as follows: Year 1: £9,515, Year 2: £12,369, Year 3: £15,223, Year 4: £18,500
