Motion Digital - Apprenticeship Programme 2022


We are looking for 10 talented digital apprentices to join us in Leeds. During your apprenticeship you will study towards a Level 3 qualification in Digital Marketing and have the chance to work with some of the industry’s most exciting clients and people.

Your apprenticeship will last for 16 months and during that time you will rotate across two teams within the business learning about the digital advertising process from different perspectives. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple digital channels for some of our largest clients, helping them to achieve their business objectives. We will throw you in to the deep end to give you a real flavour of what it is like to work in a media agency. 


Anyone can apply for the programme, so long as the following criteria is met:

  • You did not study any digital marketing related modules during your degree
  • You do not hold a prior qualification at the same or higher level which is similar to this apprenticeship 
  • You are not on another Department for Education funded training programme, including another apprenticeship 
  • You have the right to work and live in the UK
  • You have lived in the UK or EEA for at least 3 years from the start of your apprenticeship
  • GCSE Grade A-C or 9 – 5 in English and Maths is preferable. If you have not achieved a grade C/ 5 and above, you will be required to take a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English alongside your other qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Here are the opportunities we have on offer:

1. SEO & Biddable Apprentice

What you’ll be doing in SEO:

• Analysing key data

• Performing keyword research & analysis

• Preparing reports and presentations for the SEO team and clients

• Reporting

• Sales preparation including compilation of proposals

• Identifying opportunities for clients and prospects

• Ad-hoc SEO tasks as required


What you’ll be doing in Biddable:

• Keyword research

• Writing search ad copy

• Keyword bidding and budget management

• Data and performance analysis

• Report writing, PowerPoint deck creation and data visualisation

• Attending weekly client calls alongside your Account Lead

• Helping to recommend marketing strategies and next steps

• Building out Paid Social campaigns

• Targeting relevant audience groups

• Creating engaging ads


2. Research and Insights & Demand Generation Apprentice

What you’ll be doing in Research & Insights:

• Providing data insights and collateral for sales meetings/pitches, client reviews and digital consultancy projects

• Identifying opportunities for new sales and to grow accounts across the existing client base

• Supporting existing clients and internal stakeholders with ad-hoc data analysis

• Assisting in the creation, implementation and analysis of primary research methodologies

• Creating thought leadership to market the Research & Insights team and the agency in general

• Assisting in the fostering of trusting relationships with prospects, clients and internal stakeholders


What you’ll be doing in Demand Generation:

• Learning about and working with leading automation systems such as Salesforce, Hubspot & Marketo

• Supporting with technical implementation for our clients

• Helping to research and understand client business requirements and translate them into well-architected technical solutions by researching, testing and recommending the most appropriate options that best leverage platforms such as Salesforce, Hubspot and Marketo

• Supporting with the creation of training documentation as well as ongoing strategic and technical roadmaps to ensure that clients get the best value from their automation solutions

• Providing standard client automation admin duties including setting up new users, deactivating leavers, reporting, data exports / import, data cleaning etc

• Supporting in the creation of client reporting

• Helping to make sure our internal processes and practices are of the highest standard and ensure best practice is always followed


3. Client Services Apprentice

What you’ll be doing in Client Services:

• Reviewing and reporting on campaign performance

• Internal workflow management with delivery teams to ensure efficient and effective output, to support both client retention and cross-channel revenue opportunities

• Supporting internal communications and meetings, including collating written notes

• Liaising with internal teams to solve problems and ensure smooth project delivery

• Handling budgets and managing campaign costs

• Ad-hoc client communication via phone and email across various accounts


4. Content Apprentice

What you’ll be doing in Content:

• Working on various types of written content with the ability to demonstrate different styles of writing and tones of voice

• Reviewing and proof-reading content to ensure our output is always of the highest quality and meets our client expectations

• Working closely with senior members of the team to ensure content follows digital and SEO best practice

• Managing your own content workload, meeting deadlines and prioritising tasks

• Supporting more senior team members in brainstorms and with the development of content

  • If successful you will be contacted by the Talent Team at Mediabrands for a video interview.
  • If successful at the video interview, you will be invited to attend an assessment day in August.
  • The 10 apprentices will be offered their positions in late August.
  • The apprenticeship will begin in September 2022.
