At MBDA, Manufacturing consists of Assembly, Integration and Test of all our products for the company. The products we make are delivered directly to the customer/end user and therefore Manufacturing are vital to the delivery aspects of MBDAs business.
Integral to the build of each and every one of our range of products are our Operations directorate. They work with our Engineers and design specifications, in an open place environment with state of the art manufacturing facilities, to deliver on our commitment to our customers. They maintain the integrity of each and every one of our builds through the specialist work they do.
Our Operations Apprentices are the future of our Manufacturing facility.
This opportunity would suit anyone that has a keen interest in how things work and is looking to learn and shape a career around a practical skill. Future roles once you have completed your apprenticeship may lead to more specialist sills such as electro-mechanical dual skills. You could even end up leading a team. We are working to build a flexible pool of operators - and you could be part of this.
What does the programme look like and what will I learn?
On this 4 year programme you'll work towards a Level 3 Eng Tech awarded by the IET.
During your first year you'll be studying full time at College. Years 2,3 and 4 you'll be studying 1 day per week at College with the remainder of your working week onsite, experiencing different placements putting in to practice the practical skills you've been learning. You'll get to experience the following placements:
- Printed Electrical Circuit Manufacturing
- Cable Manufacturing
- Missile Assembly
- Missile Integration
- Missile Test
- Calibration & Maintenance
Study on this programme will be face to face.
This role has specific qualification level and subject criteria - please make sure you carefully check your eligibility against this criteria as we cannot consider applications from anyone that does not meet the following requirements:
5 x GCSE qualifications at Grade 4 or higher, to include Maths and English PLUS a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject
All graduates, undergraduates and apprentices at MBDA are required to achieve the appropriate clearance relevant to their respective role. Some roles, may be reserved for UK nationals and certain categories of information may be restricted to UK nationals also. To gain suitable clearance individuals will need to have lived in UK for up to 5 years dependent on the level of clearance required
