About the role

Our planning team are responsible for understanding the market forecast, then effectively planning production lines ensuring the availability of raw materials and machine capacity. The team are critical in ensuring our goods are delivered on time to our customers.
What you will do
As a Planning Apprentice you will gain a thorough understanding of the planning process from the procurement of raw materials to the transfer of finished goods to our international distribution centre (IDC). You will learn to use the computer-based planning and reporting tools.
You will support the planning group to create effective plans to meet manufacturing and commercial requirements and analyse complex data to alert planners to risks or potential opportunities.
Day to day you will take part in many activities that contribute to the success of the planning team such as the procurement of raw materials to cover production plans, the creation and processing of orders, month end reconciliation of consignment stocks and production of relevant reports.
Working Monday to Friday you will split your time between on job learning (80%) and academic study (20%) working towards achieving Level 2 and Level 3 diplomas – Introduction to Supply Chain & Operations, via the Institute of Supply Chain Management. The combination of support from a knowledgeable and experienced team and academic study will help you get a head start in your career.
Who are you
We would love to hear from you if you have;
- 2 A levels at grades A-C (essential) and a degree level qualification (Business Studies or Supply Chain) (desirable)
- Strong IT literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, specifically Excel
- The ability to work well under pressure ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes monitored
- A logical and methodical approach to problem solving
- A passion for delivering strong customer service
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- A flexible but solutions focused approach

This role is based from our Trafford Park site which offers onsite parking and access to strong public transport networks.
