Define the future as a Policy Apprentice
The Government’s Policy Profession presents the type of challenges that are unmatchable by other employers. Our people get to work on projects affecting everything from transport to national security, making a direct impact on the wellbeing of the general public. It is vital that we are ready for future policy challenges, so we are delighted to be recruiting for the next generation of policy talent.
This newly-developed apprenticeship scheme has been shaped to identify dynamic individuals who will thrive no matter which Government Department they join. Learning on the job while you take on career-defining challenges, this is a valuable opportunity to enjoy a fast-paced career whilst securing a recognised level 4 qualification. Under the guidance of an ‘Apprentice Facilitator’, you will develop work-based projects, which will ultimately contribute to your final end-point assessment. On a day-to-day basis, you will be exposed to networking opportunities with colleagues across government, while ‘forum days’ will provide you with the scope to network and share what you’ve learnt. With the educational side of your scheme being delivered by KPMG, you will be exposed to a rich array of learning prospects (including face-to-face workshops and digital learning) – all designed to ensure you succeed in your career.
We are passionate about helping you develop your natural skills and forge a successful career path, so once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you will have the chance to stay with your current team, pursue alternative opportunities within the Civil Service or even take your skills to another organisation As such, we have shaped this apprenticeship to help you develop transferable skills. Made up of 8 core modules, your acquired knowledge will set you up for a high-flying career – so you will need to be passionate about learning, with the willingness to develop skills in areas such as stakeholder engagement, developing your personal effectiveness, how to communicate with impact, project management, and evaluating outcomes.
