As an apprentice at Scottish Water you’ll be joining one of Scotland’s most critical businesses and be part of the team who look after Scotland's most precious natural resource. From source to tap, we're trusted to keep our customers supplied with world class water and care for our environment every minute of every day.

We’re passionate about developing our people and we’ll help you make the most of your skills and abilities with first-class training, support, hands-on work experience and a huge investment in your development. You’ll have the chance to challenge and stretch yourself and build opportunities for your future as your career grows and develops. We’re a team that respects and values peoples’ differences, where you can be yourself - and where you can flourish.

As part of our commitment to talent development we are now accepting applications for our 2020 Apprentice Programme which commences in August 2020 for you to join as a Repair and Maintenance Water Network Modern Apprentice based in the locations above.

What will you be doing?

During this 2 year programme, you’ll be learning everything you need to know about how we maintain our water network to ensure our customers receive high quality and safe drinking water through our reliable and resilient service. That means most of your days will be spent outdoors working as part of an expert and experienced team who will support you to develop your skills and knowledge and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. The role you are developing towards requires out of hours working and you will be expected to participate in this at some point during your apprenticeship programme.  This is your chance to learn as you earn, working with industry-leading teams to help deliver services that are essential to the daily lives of the people of Scotland.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for people who are self-directed, team players who are good at solving problems and enjoy being outdoors. You should be practical and well organised with a positive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative. You’ll have five National 4 or 5 Qualifications and a full UK driving licence (or currently be working to achieve this). You’ll need to be able to demonstrate your interest in the practical element of this role (either through previous experience in a similar role or by clearly describing this in your application).

If you’re interested in starting your career in the water industry as an apprentice, we’d love to hear from you! Apply through the link below by 29th March 2020.
