You’ve done your A-levels or BTECs and now you’re looking for the right next step. Maybe it’s university, but you’d like to explore your options before you commit. Perhaps you’re more interested in the world of work, but you’re not really sure what you want to do. Or maybe you’d like some work experience in your gap year before going off to university. If you’re still in two minds, our one-year traineeship could be just the thing for you. You’ll learn all about Schroders – one of the City’s most innovative asset management firms. And you’ll have the opportunity to discover fresh possibilities and focus on what you really want from your career.
What’s in it for you
As a trainee, you’ll benefit in all kinds of ways. First, there’s the training, support and hands-on experience. You’ll learn all about the asset management world, explore your options in the world of finance, and develop skills you’ll be able to apply throughout your career. We’ll also pay you a competitive salary. So you’ll be to live in London and enjoy everything that working in the City has to offer, without any additional financial support. And after a year, you’ll have a professional qualification, some valuable experience on your CV, and a much clearer idea about what you want to do next. It could even be the start of a lasting career with us.
We have opportunities in everything from Technology and Operations to Data Management, Compliance, and Sales & Communications. Don’t worry if you don’t know which area is right for you at the moment. We don’t even expect you to know what asset management is yet! Our online form asks you to tell us a bit about yourself and what you like doing so we can try to match you to the role that will interest you most.
What we’ll look for in you
Ambition. Initiative. A real eagerness to learn. Put simply, you’ll be ready to explore everything the City has to offer and grab opportunities with both hands. From the practical point of view, it’s essential that you have a minimum of 96 UCAS Points (using the 2017 UCAS Tariff Calculator),, and are at least 18 years old when the programme starts. Otherwise, show us you’re passionate about what we do, and we’ll teach you the rest.
