Job Profile

The test team are responsible for specifying, carrying out and managing testing activities against BTs global network platforms.  Testing provides an great opportunity to become deeply involved in the whole network development cycle. We are involved right from conception of ideas, through development of designs, performing hands-on testing activities on supplier equipment through to support for in-life issues.  This is all on platforms which are core to BTs business and future success.

The role of an apprentice is to support testing activities as efficiently as possible to contribute to the development and maintenance of the network platform and services.  They would support the technical leads for specific test activities/deliverables with responsibility for ensuring the technical integrity of the work given. You would need to understand the requirements/designs, develop test documentation/test cases and ensure test execution is carried out in a competent/consistent manner.

The apprentice will be working with the wider test team, on multiple projects across a variety of test deliveries. They will be learning a variety of networking technologies, the use of test equipment as well as getting to know how to build a network in our modelled environment.

They will also have opportunities to work on additional projects from power and cost saving initiatives to supporting live WiFi hotspot rollouts.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs A to C Grade (including English and Maths).

2 A-Levels A to C
