About the role:
The role provides an excellent opportunity to begin your career within the construction industry.
You do not need relevant experience within the industry but you do need the will and drive to succeed.
As a Trainee Estimator you will assist with all estimating aspects of a bid, helping to ensure that high quality, competitive proposals are delivered to the customer in line with the Balfour Beatty Management Systems. This will include taking off quantities, sending out enquiries for quotations, analysing quotes, visiting site, building up rates, and formation of preliminaries and collation of all information to complete a Tender. Together with an appreciation of company procedures.
You will establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with customers, partners, Bid Managers, Bid Writers, Estimators, Planners and other technical experts
Who we’re looking for:
- 5 GCSE’s including Maths at Grade C or equivalent.
- 2 A-Levels or equivalent
- Good logic and analytical skills
- Eligibility to work and live permanently in the UK
- Full UK driving Licence
- A flexible approach to work and able to adapt to change (you may be required to travel for the role)
- A team-focus with the ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the able to work on your own initiative
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Experience of construction/engineering industry through undergraduate placement
- Graduate CSCS card
