Based on the stunning island of Kefalonia, we offer 3 meaningful Action Project options with a focus on animal welfare (dog foster home & animal rescue centres), the environment and marine conservation (protecting endangered Loggerhead sea turtles), running all-year-round enabling volunteers more flexibility to choose start dates, duration and the option to assist in a mixture of projects.
Choose to spend from 2 to 12 weeks assisting in 1, 2 or 3 centres, while getting to know like-minded volunteers sharing accommodation in dormitory style rooms in either the Lattitude Action Project hostel or one of the placement ‘hostels’ (why not get a group of friends together to share the experience?). The Lattitude hostel is in the island capital of Argostoli, with fabulous views of the town, the sea and mountains and basic meal ingredients is provided in the hostel (food is not provided during the 2 week placements at the Turtle Sanctuary).
Lattitude has a representative on the island who will meet you on arrival and provide orientation and in country support during your stay.
Costs are based on an initial booking fee of 345 euro, plus 430 euro (500 euro for the Marine -Turtle - Conservation) for the first 2 weeks and 170 euro for each additional week (Flights are not included).
This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the island life and do something fulfilling and worthwhile for these wonderful creatures.
