Salary - £10 per hour
Alongside our award winning Graduate programme, we're offering a paid 8 week internship within our Water Recycling Networks team at the UK's #1 Best Place to Work according to Glassdoor. Our internships will introduce you to an exciting and challenging industry that delivers a vital water resource to millions of customers.
At Anglian Water you are given real responsibility from day one, helping to embrace the challenges we face and contributing to transforming our business into the water company of the future - and this is no different for our interns.
What will you be doing?
Over the course of this 8 week internship, you'll work alongside our Water Recycling Networks team during the day to day operation of a 76,000km sewer network and 6,300 associated pumping stations which safely conveys 900million litres of sewage everyday, before treating and returning the water to the environment. Your primary role as an intern will be to research the causation of problems in our sewage network and contribute to the development of innovative strategies that prevent the pollution of the environment by sewage escaping from our network.
During your internship, you will be supported by a sponsor. You will work closely with the teams responsible for managing and maintaining our sewers and pumping stations and you will gain exposure to the strategic management of a large utility as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement at a tactical level.
Throughout the duration of this internship you will be based in Peterborough, although there will be some travel involved to our different office locations around the area we serve.
What do you need?
- Currently studying a degree in Science, Environmental Studies or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate great communication skills
- A real team player who can build strong working relationships quickly
- Analytical skills
- A driving licence and the flexibility to travel around the region as required
- You must also be able to commit to the full 8 week internship
