Bosun / Waterfront Maintenance

Destinations: Greece and Turkey

About the Role

We are actively seeking a Bosun / Waterfront Maintenance to come work in one of our stunning Mediterranean beach resorts.

As a member of our dynamic waterfront team you’ll maintaint and repair all the equipment used on our waterfront. You also may be involved in other waterfront operations. We offer informal group sessions, RYA syllabus courses and private one-to-one tuition. You’ll ensure all guests have well maintained equipment.

It’s not all work and no play though! Opportunities to get out on the water will be plentiful; you could learn a new sport or explore exciting new places with like-minded friends.


Main Responsibilities

  • Organising and sourcing materials locally
  • Repairing boats and boards using fibre glassing materials
  • Woodwork construction
  • Repairing any broken parts of boats using metalwork.
  • Assisting the beach team in busy periods
  • Organising the damaged equipment and reporting levels in spares
  • Dropping off and picking up sails from the sail repairer
  • Assisting daily watersports instruction/activities
  • Ensure Mark Warner and RYA standards are adhered to at all times
  • Partake in additional waterfront responsibilities including safety cover, customer service and shore-break duties
  • Establish and implement water safety precautions
  • Support management team to organise the ‘Race Day’
  • Implement and participate in a ‘bad weather’ programme
  • Assist with in-resort marketing activities and promotions
  • Participate in evening entertainments, guest dinners and social activities

Essential Requirements – Some, but not necessarily all of the following

  • Fibreglassing
  • Composite structures – working with Epoxy, E glass, Carbon
  • Basic woodwork skills
  • Basic metal work skills – Hand cutting, hand shaping, drilling, riveting
  • Painting – Spray painting and brush painting
  • British Drivers license
  • Background knowledge of boats and boards.
  • City and guilds boat building
  • NVQ – Boat building
  • RYA Powerboat level 2 desired
  • RYA Dinghy/Windsurf Instructor desired
  • UK/EU Passport holder
  • UK National Insurance Number
  • UK bank account
