Institute and Faculty of Actuaries

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) is the UK's only chartered professional body dedicated to educating, developing and regulating actuaries based both in the UK and internationally.

An actuary is a professional person who works within the business and financial sector.  They use their great mathematics, statistical, probability, modelling, numerical and problem solving skills to model and predict the risk before business decisions are made.

If you love maths and think a career involving maths might be for you, then the IFoA offer a professional qualification called the CAA which forms part of an apprenticeship; giving you a great start in the financial sector without going to university.
