About ICMP

ICMP London offers a specialist range of industry-aligned Masters Programmes, Music degrees, Diplomas & 1 year Higher Education Programmes (HNC/CERT HE) for students of Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Songwriting, Music Production and Music Business. These courses are all focused on preparing musicians, producers, performers, creative artists and entrepreneurs for a successful and rewarding career in the music industry.

ICMP music college has been developing and delivering contemporary music education for over 30 years – longer than any other music school in the UK. Founded in 1986, ICMP was originally known as The Guitar Institute and Basstech, but soon expanded to offer courses in drums, vocals and other instruments; songwriting; music business and music production. We pride ourselves on our small class sizes, 121 tuition, high number of teaching contact hours, personalised approach to student engagement, regular one-to-one support, and dynamic use of technology in the classroom – innovations you just won’t find to the same extent at any other modern music college.

Our personalised learning approach means we really get to know you as a musician. We’ll provide a learning experience that’s unique to you, and will work with you to nurture your natural talent, explore your future ambitions, and provide ongoing opportunities for live performances, auditioning, songwriting, recording and touring. We understand that each student will have different career motivations and your vision of ‘success’ will be unique, so we encourage you to follow your own individual path. At ICMP, your future is in your hands, and you’ll graduate feeling emboldened and inspired, with the tools, connections, self-confidence and head start you need to drive your career in the music industry forward.
