What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a real job with training. You can earn while you learn, usually in college for one day a week or on block release from your employer. You will get a recognised qualification while being paid a wage by your employer.

What's more, you can do an apprenticeship in a variety of subjects - making it a great option if you want to learn valuable skills and gain knowledge that employers want you to have, all while gaining a solid foundation of real full-time work experience.

What are the benefits of an apprenticeship?

- Working alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills

- Earning with minimum pay of £4.15 per hour, although many apprentices earn more than this

- Developing transferable skills that can be used across a range of jobs and industries

- Enhancing future career prospects

- Building your confidence

- Degree apprenticeship progression opportunities

What age can you complete an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are available to anyone aged 16+ and over.
