Digital Operations Apprentice

As Edinburgh’s principal transport provider, Lothian has been providing the city with a first-class public transport service for over a century. In more recent years they have expanded to provide the same great services within Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian.

As their Digital Operations Apprentice, you will provide support for the Operations and Service Delivery teams in their daily function of running an efficient and compliant bus service.

Reporting to the Operations Support Supervisor, you will be entrusted with a wide range and high volume of duties, which must be completed in a timely, efficiently and confidential manner. Lothian has supported 3 QA Apprentices to date, so you are in safe hands!

What will you be doing?

  • Compiling and issuing Daily Garage Reports to the appropriate mailing lists. Information from these reports will come from downloading driver tachographs on a daily basis via DAS (internal drivers system) and issue weekly tachograph compliance reports to garages.
  • You will become an expert key user in various systems such as TTC Contnuum (Fleet & Driver Management Software). You will check potential drivers’ licenses on this software.
  • Using a back-end ticketing system, Flowbird, you will gather data to run reports to deliver to the relevant garages.
  • On the systems stated above, you will update driver details including new starters and leavers.
  • Liaising with other garages via MS Outlook when sending reports and when issuing weekly drug and alcohol call lists. You will also liaise with internal IT department on Operational Support tickets that are submitted.
  • Managing the distribution of policy and procedures to mailing lists and MyLothian (intranet) as and when required.
  • Manual collection of data from legacy systems that do not directly sync to Power BI reports.
  • Working with the Service Delivery Team to produce and update operational lists and tracking sheet and overseeing uniform supplies.

Salary: £18,000 per annum.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours such as 9am - 5:30pm or 8am - 4:30pm.
