Can I drop out of 6th Form at any time?

I have just finished my GCSE's and I am currently looking for an apprenticeship. I haven't found one I am interested in doing yet. As I know I have to be in education until I am 18 I am considering going to sixth form in the meantime whilst i'm still looking for an apprenticeship. I am wondering if I can then leave sixth form whenever as I have been told that I might have to do a whole year before I can leave. So what I would like to know is if I find an apprenticeship within the next few months can I leave sixth form for the job?

You can leave at any time, but as you say, you need to be in some form of education or training until you are 18.

Go to 6th form, work hard, but keep looking for the right apprenticeship - there is less competition from this time of year onwards! If nothing comes up, you will have your 6th form qualificatiosn in 2 years that will open up more advanced and higher apprenticeships.
