Can I get experience in teaching whilst getting paid?

Basically, I am a student doing A levels and applying for Primary education through UCAS. However, I really want to do a gap year before starting university so I can get as much experience working with kids as I can. Although, my mum really wants me to go to university next year and is refusing to financially support me unless I do so; therefore I really want to find experience where I can also be paid to support myself. Can I do this?

    Hi Charlotte

The only thing I can think of is that you can do an apprenticeship as an Early Years Educator. Some of these are at Intermediate and some at Advanced level. They vary in length - some are 12 months and some longer.

If you do a search on the Find an Apprenticeship site you'll be able to study some of the current vacancies to get an idea.

    Regards
