Can I leave Sixth form while looking for an apprenticeship?

After finishing my GCSE's in year 11 I decided I wanted to stay on at my schools sixth form and eventually go onto Uni, however now I have realised that I do not want to go to Uni and instead I would like to get an Apprenticeship to become an electrician. I am both academic and practical but I have always been more drawn to doing more hands on things. I am currently in my first year of sixth form and I really hate it, I have no motivation to do any of the work and I just find myself getting frustrated with it all. I am looking for an Apprenticeship but I'm still at sixth form for the time being, which I really don't want to be. Would I be able to drop out of sixth form now and still pursue an Apprenticeship?
You can start an apprenticeship at any time; if one is available. More will be available from the summer, as companies know more young people will be finishing School/College at that time.
Start looking locally now. Staying at school until you find that opportunity might help - it will avoid that potential 'so you quit school? Are you a quitter?' interview moment.
