I recently moved to UK. Before coming here I did some research work in India for about 2 years. If I apply for apprenticeships will I be eligible? Or do I need to do some degree course to be considered as a fresher?

    Hi Neelam

There are various eligibility rules for UK apprenticeships to do with nationality and residence. You have to be resident in the UK/EU for at least 3 years prior to commencing the training.

Also, possessing a qualification above level 3 (A levels) rules you out from being funded for an apprenticeship. So it is either higher education or an apprenticeship. You can progress to HE after completing an apprenticeship but you can't do it the other way round.

Hope that helps to clarify things.

    Regards

    Chris
