I put in York but it still shows Leeds and Harrogate and other towns in the UK, how do I get rid of that?

    Hi Arthur

I'm afraid I only deal with careers advice related issues here. I suggest you get in touch with the admin team by using the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

If you are searching broadly (i.e. not filtering by type of job) and have stipulated York in your search, then the first few pages of results you see will be solely for apprenticeship recruitment or jobs based directly in York or very close by.

If, however, you are filtering by specific type of job, then if there are no matches directly for York then our results are designed to feature matches located as close as possible to York - and then expanding outwards by radius distance. This is done so that we are always offering searchers at least 1 full page of results, which we think is more useful than just a page that says 'no results'.

So I would guess it's very much about the type of job (or course) you were searching for.

We ask our organisation partners to enter a postcode for the location of the vacancy or opportunity they are posting and then our system matches results using a geolocator. It's quite funky stuff and usually very accurate but occasionally will throw up the odd strange result. We are always working on the search facility to improve it so if you think your search was not accurate enough do drop us a line using the contact page.

Best of luck in your searches Arthur and we hope you find something suitable within or close to York soon.

sometimes ends up putting places in like Leeds and Whitby which is too far for me to travel to in my current situation since I don't have a driver's licence
