How hard is it to get into a sponsored degree in law?

I'm due to go to university in Sept. 2018, and I really want to do a sponsored degree for many reasons. What can I do to make myself stand out in terms of getting selected? I keep reading that it's extremely competitive, but what are the chances of me realistically getting onto a solicitor's sponsored degree? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
You need to separate yourself out from the crowd. Companies will have lots of applications from people who have the same (or better) qualifications - but academic qualifications may not reflect your ability to do the job, or fit in with the company.
Read the job details carefully - what skills are they looking for? How can you demonstrate you have those skills? What is the ethos of the company - what do they consider important? Is it a very high quality product? Innovation in service? Excellent customer service? A social responsibility?
Present yourself as someone with the skills to do the job, and personally aligned with the company's ethos, as well as your great qualifications, and you should do well.
