Hello Few weeks ago I finished Sixth Form, I have not go the grades yet, they'll give them to me by August. I studied IT and Media, but I have a problem now, that I absolutely have no clue of what should I do next, I'm scared because I don't want to be working in a job that I might not like. I have good GCSE grades and it seems that I will also get good BTEC/A Levels grades, but I still have no idea. I like computers for example, but I don't know if that would be good for me, I can't seem to be able to make a choice. I saw this section in this website and decided to ask for some advice if possible. Thank you.

    Hello Abdu

Your nervousness is understandable and is shared by many thousands of other people facing the big step into the working world.

To be honest this is one of those things where you just have to go for it. Give it a try and you'll soon realise that the world of work is not that scary after all.

You have been a bit slow out of the blocks. You should have been applying for jobs or apprenticeships before now! There is definitely no need to wait until you have your grades.

I'm afraid I cannot give you in depth careers guidance here. That is something that has to be done face to face with a trained careers adviser or someone knowledgable about the labour market sector in question.

    Regards

    Chris
