My 2 year college course in Art & Design is near ending and I have no interest in further relations to the subject. I'd like to find either a job or an apprenticeship that I feel I will get something out of in life. Help.

    Hi Tia

What kind of apprenticeship would you like to do? Or maybe you aren't sure?

Thank you for replying! I'd like to do anything really but mainly retail but I also thought about being an air hostess but I don't know what I need to be one? I have looked it up but it seems like tough competition, are there any courses that could help to get into a job like that?

    Hi Tia

Yes, you are right that cabin crew jobs are incredibly competitive. That is mainly down to simple market forces although it does take a special kind of person to make a good steward. Some colleges of FE run travel and tourism courses which can lead to a variety of roles in that industry. I think that you can find private colleges which claim to improve your chances but this is an expensive option. Visit the web sites of the major airlines for details of their recruitment policies.

You might want to exsplore the possibilities under the apprenticeships scheme. Retail and a number of other customer facing roles are readily available as either Intermediate or Advanced level apprenticeships. Anyone who has left full time education and doesn’t possess an HND or degree can apply for these. More details here:
