Shall I drop out of college?

Hi, now before you ask I'm not looking for an easy way out. I am a music student and have just turned 17. My college course was a year long and is coming to an end. I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought. Now I hate education. I'm a borderline dyslexic who has been bullied my whole life. I tried my very best at GCSE to get 1 A* 2 B's and 5C's. I work on weekends and I was talking to my college about how much I can't stand the workload and the expectation, the unhelpful advice and I'm lacking in motivation, they said that they dropped out of college earlier this year. I've considered it for 4 months now. Shall I finish the course I'm on now and next year drop out? I even looked at all the apprenticeships and traineeships I could do and none of them interest me or will benefit me. My parents say they just want me to be happy and I think this is the right answer. However, College don't like it. I have talked to them about it and they are trying to force me to stay there. I read somewhere online they can't force me to stay in college but I don't know if that's true or not. It's not a local college either I travel for an hour on the train just to get from my house to the college. I really need help I'm desperate! Please help!!!!

    Hi Alex

If you're really unhappy on your course then it may make most sense to pack it in.

The college staff are talking rubbish. There is nothing compulsory about college courses. Just ignore them and do whatever you think makes most sense.

    Hope that helps!

    Regards

    Chris
