Hi, I hope you can help. I'm currently in my 2nd year of college and I'm miserable (have been since christmas of last year), I have been told by everyone just to stick it out and put all of my efforts into my a levels and get a good grade at the end so I never have to look back. I understand what they are saying but I don't think I can do that anymore...... I attend all my lessons (with difficulty) but I have no motivation to do anything more. I have no desire to go to university, I want to travel (I have booked a one way ticket to Australia for Sept 2017) My worry, like my parents is that I'm going to return from my travels after X number of weeks/ months/ years and regret not completing my a levels even though I don't think I'm going to get great grades if I stay. Are there any qualifications I can gain in 6 months/ what can I do that is worthwhile unlike the past 1 1/2 years and any other suggestions? I am studying Maths/ Physics/ Psychology and I have decent GCSE grades if this helps. I appreciate any advice Thanks

    Hi G,

I am sorry that your current studies are not working out for you.
There are not any comparable qualifications you could do that quickly. Having got this far, it would be a shame not to complete, as (post Australia) getting through it would leave you with Level 3 qualifications that, no matter what grade you got, might open doors like an advanced apprenticeship. Dropping out could also leave a difficult interview conversation -'quitter?' But you need to be happy and positive too - go and have an honest conversation with all your lecturers - tell them exactly what you have said here. The trip to Oz is a great opportunity - see it as a reward for the hard graft of less than 6 months :-)
