What are my best options?

I have recently completed A-levels, however i didn't too well in them for personal reasons mainly. I have been living in the UK for two years now after relocating from South Africa. I have very good GCSE equivalents. I have obviously decided that something like an apprenticeship would be best for me and my development. I am open to moving away from home and would prefer that but would need a job that can pay me accordingly for living expenses etc. What are my best options moving forward with everything considered? Thank you

    Hi Nathan

I'm not sure that you would be eligible to do an apprenticeship as you normally have to be resident in the UK/EU for 3 years prior to starting your course.

If you let me know where you live and the kind of training you are interested in I will find contact details for a training provider who should be able to clarify things for you.

    Regards

Thank you for coming back to me. I currently live in Bath at the moment. Also, I am interested in anything to do with engineering training and development or a science related role or business and finance fields. Thank you

    Hi Nathan

OK. I suggest that you get in touch with City of Bath College's apprenticeships department:

    0117 312 5250
    Apprentice@cityofbristol.ac.uk

Ask them to check your eligibility with reference to your length of residence in the UK. If I'm right about this then you could look at applying at a later date and finding something useful to fill in the intervening period?

You can get careers advice from the college's Advice Department:

    Regards

    Chris
