I'm currently taking a gap year and I was planning to take apprenticeship but then I found out that these are funded by UK government and I'm not eligible since I have Russian Passport. I'm passionate about Investment Banking and I would really love to do something during this year which will help me to approach my dream of working in Investment Bank.

If you have a right to work visa and have lived in the UK for 3 years, then a company can receive funding for training for you via the apprenticeship route.
Investment banking is a competitive field with many entering with very high qualifications, but there are back-office roles that could train you and professional qualifications you could achieve later.
The banking industry in the UK is likely to go through a period of uncertainty in recruitment as Brexit continues - jobs may be hard to find.
