An apprenticeship in print & printed packaging will provide you with key skills covering the entire print process, from initial design, through to choosing inks and paper, handling or programming printing presses and up to customer relations. Since the printing and packaging industry is diverse these skills could find you working with manufacturers (for printing on metals, plastics, cardboard and cartons) or with advertising and marketing departments creating leaflets, labels and posters, and many other sectors.

Typical roles include:
- scanning and proofing technician
- pre-press technician/plate maker
- desk top publishing
- machine operations (press, guillotine, folding and binding)
